Non - Degenerate Ground State in the Antiferromagnetic Double - Exchange Model on a Triangular Lattice
In order to study effects of frustration in an itinerant electron system, we investigate ground states of the antiferromagnetic double-exchange model on a triangular lattice. In this model, pseudo-spins are coupled to electron transfer integrals in such a way that antiparallel configurations of pseudo-spins gain kinetic energies. Although the antiferromagnetic Ising model on a triangular lattic...
متن کاملThe Bousfield Lattice for Truncated Polynomial Algebras
The global structure of the unbounded derived category of a truncated polynomial ring on countably many generators is investigated, via its Bousfield lattice. The Bousfield lattice is shown to have cardinality larger than that of the real numbers, and objects with large tensor-nilpotence height are constructed.
متن کاملThe truncated polynomial expansion Monte Carlo method for fermion systems coupled to classical fields: a model independent implementation
A software library is presented for the polynomial expansion method (PEM) of the density of states (DOS) introduced in Ref [1, 2]. The library provides all necessary functions for the use of the PEM and its truncated version (TPEM) in a model independent way. The PEM/TPEM replaces the exact diagonalization of the one electron sector in models for fermions coupled to classical fields. The comput...
متن کاملOctupolar order in the multiple spin exchange model on a triangular lattice.
We show how a gapless spin liquid with hidden octupolar order arises in an applied magnetic field, in a model applicable to thin films of 3He with competing ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic (cyclic) exchange interactions. Evidence is also presented for nematic--i.e., quadrupolar--correlations bordering on ferromagnetism in the absence of a magnetic field.
متن کاملClassical Ring - exchange Processes on the Triangular Lattice ⋆
The effects of the ring-exchange Hamiltonian H3 = J3 ∑ 〈ijk〉(Si · Sj)(Si · Sk) on the triangular lattice are studied using classical Monte Carlo simulations. Each spin Si is treated as a classical XY spin taking on Q equally spaced angles (Q-states clock model). For Q = 6, a first-order transition into a stripe-ordered phase preempts the macroscopic classical degeneracy. For Q > 6, a finite win...
